• Haley’s Game-Winning Homer, Smith’s Shutout Put Bucs in First

    Matt Smith tossed a shutout in game one and Casey Furnas delivered on the offensive end set up Nick Haley, who give the Mass Maritime Academy baseball team a MASCAC sweep of Bridgewater State University with a game-inning home run in the nightcap. The 2-0, 5-3 wins moved the Buccaneers into a tie for first place in the conference with one series remaining. Game One
  • Gardner a Bright Spot in Bridgewater Losses

    After a run of excellent play, the Buccaneers? torrid softball bats were quieted by Bridgewater State University in a 5-0, 17-1 MASCAC sweep. The Bears allowed Massachusetts Maritime Academy only seven hits and hung two crooked numbers in the game two romp. Rachel Gardner reached base in four of her eight plate appearances to lead the Bucs.
  • Maritime Loses Extra-Inning Thriller in Curry Sweep

    Fresh off their first MASCAC victory in 13 years, the Massachusetts Maritime Academy softball team got off to a great start against Curry College scoring first and rallying four times as the game went on, but dropped an extra-inning 9-8 thriller in game one. In the nightcap, the Colonels used put up two crooked numbers in a 10-2 victory.

    On Friday night, there was a changing of the guard as the Massachusetts Maritime Academy?s women?s lacrosse team celebrated its seniors, bidding farewell to its all-time offensive leader, Stephanie Hunt. In the ensuing 18-4 win over MCLA, however, it was freshman Casey Sullivan who staked her claim as the next goal-scoring leader of the Buccaneers and today, she was awarded her second MASCAC Rookie of the Week award.

    Colin McCabe added yet another accomplishment to his rapidly growing collection as, for the fourth week in-a-row, the Massachusetts Maritime Academy two-sport athlete set a track and field record. Competing in the Eastern Connecticut State University Invitational, the freshman thrower beat a crowd of upperclassmen for first place and the new meet record.
  • Team Impact’s Arianna Signs Lacrosse Letter of Intent

    On Thursday, the Massachusetts Maritime Academy women?s lacrosse team added its newest member, Team IMPACT?s Arianna Gilmore. The Draft Day was sponsored by Vertex Pharmaceuticals and Arianna signed an official Letter of Intent before her family and friends, cheered on by more than one hundred Buccaneer athletes.

    The Massachusetts Maritime Academy men?s lacrosse team celebrated eight seniors, including Teddy McGowan, the Buccaneers? Team IMPACT player, in a 13-0 loss to the U.S. Coast Guard Academy on a beautiful evening at Clean Harbors Stadium.

    After a long dry spell in conference play it took the Massachusetts Maritime Academy softball team just one hour and seven minutes to get into the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference win column with a 6-0 victory in game one of a double header over Westfield State University. The WSU Owls bounced back in the second game to claim a 13-0 victory.
