North Adams, MA- MCLA senior student athlete Jade Prickett (Westhampton, MA) was named the MASCAC Women of the Year at the annual conference meeting. With the honor, Prickett is now nominated for the National NCAA Women of the Year award. Prickett is the first female athlete to earn this honor from MCLA.
Prickett wrapped up an outstanding career both on and off the field at MCLA. Prickett was a duel sport athlete, competing in both Soccer and Basketball. She was a tremendous student, graduating Magna Cum Laude, with a Sociology degree. Prickett was well involved in the community both at MCLA and in North Adams. She was a dedicated member of the Student Government Association as well as the Student Trustee on MCLA’s board.
As an athlete, Prickett was a captain of both sports. She was a four year starter for Head Coach Deb Raber’s soccer program. She was an All MASCAC performer in both her junior and senior seasons, helping to turn around the program. The program has set school records for victories in a season in each of the last two years. This past season, she led MCLA to the MASCAC finals and the ECAC Semifinals.
On the court, Prickett was a solid role player, earning some spot starts for Head Coach Holly McGovern. Prickett was a key element in the Trailblazers run to their first ever MASCAC Basketball title. She was part of another program that has set back to back records for victories in a season, collecting 18 as a senior.
