Westfield State in the championship game of the 2008 MASCAC Men's
Basketball Tournament on Saturday afternoon at Salem State
College.
The top-seeded Vikings (21-6) earned their 15th conference postseason title in the 19-year history of the conference tournament, including eight of the last nine years.
Salem State earns the MASCAC's automatic qualifier into the upcoming NCAA Division III Championship. Brackets and seedings for the tournament are scheduled to be announced on Monday, March 3 at 12:00 p.m.
Westfield State, which was trying for its first-ever MASCAC Tournament title, finished 19-9 and will now await a possible at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament.
