Worcester, Mass. -- The Worcester State College women's basketball team will be holding a "Math Madness" event for area elementary school children at itsz upcoming basketball game on Tuesday, December 16 at Noon when the Lancers host The College of Wooster.
The event is designed to offer children the opportunity to work on math skills through basketball. Prior to the game, all students will receive a grade-appropriate math packet with questions pertaining to the women's basketball game. Students will answer questions on scores, court dimensions, player statistics, and other math equations.
Hundreds of children from May Street School, Tatnuck Magnet School, Chandler Magnet School and Forest Grove Middle are currently scheduled to attend along with their teachers and principals. The game will start at noon, and children will have the opportunity to meet players from both teams following its conclusion.
