WESTFIELD, Mass. Senior forward Andrea Wasuk (Lenox) scored a game-high 23 points, including her 1,000th career point, to lead Westfield State to a 68-58 victory over Smith College in a non-conference women's basketball game on Tuesday, Nov. 18.
Wasuk entered the game with 978 career points and she reached the magic milestone by making a free throw with 2:23 remaining. She is the 11th player in the Westfield State women's basketball program to score 1,000 career points.

Wasuk scored 13 points in the first half to lead the Owls to a 31-26 lead at the intermission. Westfield led by as many as 16 points, 25-9, midway thru the first half, but the scrappy Smith squad used an harassing defense to get back into the game.
