Fitchburg State's Laferriere, Long, Framingham State's Foley Earn ECAC Women's Lacrosse Accolades

Fitchburg State's Ali Laferriere and Carrie Long along with Framingham State's Kimmy Foley have been named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III North Women's Lacrosse All-Star teams as announced by the organization today.

The Falcons junior defender Long was recently named to the 2017 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Berkshire All-Region Second Team as well as earning an ECAC First Team selection, while senior attacker Laferriere was named to the Second Team. Both landed on the MASCAC First Team All-Conference squad which was announced last week.

Long posted 34 points on 27 goals and seven assists to go along with a conference leading 94 ground balls, 56 draw controls and 88 caused turnover, while currently leading the nation in caused turnovers per contest (4.63) and seventh nationally in ground balls per game (4.95).

Laferriere concluded the 2017 campaign with a team-leading 61 points on 48 goals scored and 13 helpers as wll as a team-best 64 draw controls, 27 ground balls and 14 caused turnovers in 19 appearances for the Green and Gold.

The Fitchburg State Women's Lacrosse team recently concluded its 2017 campaign with an overall record of 11-8 and a 4-3 mark in league play.

Foley earns her first ECAC honors after an outstanding junior season that also saw her named as a first team All-MASCAC selection.  Foley tallied a team-best 56 points on the year which included 37 goals and 19 assists to go along with 54 ground balls, 46 draw controls and 22 caused turnovers.

The 2017 women's lacrosse team won a school record 12 games and advanced the MASCAC Tournament semifinals.
