Five MASCAC women's lacrosse teams along with 13 student-athletes from the respective teams received All-Academic honors from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association as announced by the organization last week.
Bridgewater State's Gaelin Reall, Melissa Renauld, Rebecca McGlone, Reile Plante and Haley Riley, Fitchburg State's Ali Laferriere, Madison Driscoll and Lia Crutchfield, Framingham State's Mallory Fredericks, MCLA's Svetlana Morrella and Worcester State's Krissy Pessa, Alaina Martin and Alexa Harvey were all named to the Academic Honor Roll. All five of their respective teams were named Zag Sports Academic Honor Squads.
To be eligible for the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must be juniors, seniors, or graduate students and have earned a cumulative academic grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 or greater.
308 schools from across Division I, II, III and the NAIA were recognized as an IWLCA Zag Sports Academic Honor Squad for the 2016-17 academic year. The award recognizes outstanding academic achievement by teams with cumulative grade point averages (GPA) of 3.0 or better for the 2016-2017 academic year.
