Kane capped off one of the most accomplished careers in Maritime men's lacrosse history by excelling both on the field and in the classroom. During his four seasons, he helped lead the Buccaneers to a Little East Conference Championship in the program's final season in the league, the team's first NCAA Tournament appearance, and its first NCAA Tournament victory. He also leaves the Academy as one of the most prolific offensive players in program history, ranking among the all-time leaders in numerous offensive categories.
Earlier this spring, Kane was named the Little East Conference Player of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year while earning First Team All-LEC honors. He later represented the Buccaneers in both the USILA and NEILA All-Star Games and added All-Region recognition to his impressive list of accolades.
Away from the field, Kane maintained a cumulative GPA above 3.7 while earning his degree in International Maritime Business, exemplifying the balance of academic and athletic excellence recognized by the MASCAC Scholar-Athlete of the Year award.
Kane becomes the latest Buccaneer to receive the conference's highest academic honor. Maritime has produced the MASCAC Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year in five of the last seven years, with Kane joining Kyle Johnston ('20), Benjamin Paine ('21), Jack Mulligan ('24), and Brett Velzis ('25). Since the award was established during the 1979–80 academic year, Maritime student-athletes have earned the honor 13 times.
The Buccaneers along with Fitchburg State, Husson, MCLA, Maine Maritime, Salem State and Thomas will kick off the MASCAC era of men's lacrosse with the inaugural season in 2027!
