Framingham, Mass. – Junior defensive end Joshua Smiley (Springfield, Mass.) has been named to the D3football.com Team of the Week for week eight of the 2019 football season.

Smiley recorded five solo tackles with three sacks for a loss of 24 yards including a sack-fumble in the fourth quarter on the Colonials' final possession of the game with three minutes remaining as the Rams defeated previously unbeaten Western Connecticut 39-14.  The Rams held the Colonials offense to just 14 points in the contest which was well below their league leading average of 39.5 point per game.

Smiley is the third MASCAC student-athlete to be named to D3football.com Team of the Week this season. Teammate Jacob Maher earned accolades during week 5 while Bridgewater State's Ben McMahon garnered honors last week.
