WESTFIELD, Mass. -- The MASCAC Football Play-of-the-Week highlights the top plays from each conference game of the weekend, and asks fans to vote on their favorite.
The nominees from Week 1 are embedded below. Watch each highlight, and vote for the play that you think is the MASCAC Football Play-of-the-Week on the MASCAC Twitter account (https://twitter.com/mascacsports)! Voting is open until Wednesday at 12 pm. The vote totals and the winning play will be announced Wednesday on the MASCAC website and social media sites.
Play No. 1 - Fitchburg StateA high toss from the long snapper throws off the Dean kicker and Fitchburg State's defense forces a fumble in the endzone which is dropped several times between Dean and Fitchburg State before being picked up by Jan Valls for the Falcons' touchdown which secured a season-opening 33-28 victory. |
Play No. 2 - Plymouth StateAfter draining the field goal, Plymouth State's Seth Disalvo sails the ball downfield for the kickoff. As the Castleton returner comes towards him, Disalvo charges and strips the ball, allowing teammate Cooper Varano to recover and set up a Panthers' touchdown in their 20-7 win. |

Play No. 4 - Westfield StateWith Nichols threatening in the redzone, Westfield State's Cameron Danahy forces a fumble that is picked up by Bearett Henderson who scoops it up then races downfield 90 yards for the touchdown to put the Owls up 20-3. |
