MASCAC Field Hockey Weekly Award Winners 9/4
In the first-ever MASCAC Field Hockey weekly awards, the Westfield State trio of Kaleigh Murphy, Emma Gniadek and Ashley D'Elia are the Offensive Player, Defensive Player and Rookie of the Week honorees.

Murphy tallied three goals in two games, including a pair of markers in the Owls’ 7-1 season-opening win over Nichols College and added another in the 3-2 setback to Smith. |

Defensive Player of the Week |

Gniadek backstopped the Owls to a 1-1 record on the weekend, making 16 saves while allowing four goals with an .800 save percentage as the Owls split a pair of games at the Caryl Newhof Classic at Smith College. |

Rookie of the Week |

D'Elia tallied her first collegiate goal in the Owls' season-opening 7-1 win over Nichols College. The goal late in the third period put the Owls up 3-1. |
