Westfield, Mass. — Matt Tramonte of Salem State earned MASCAC Men's Golf Player of the Year honors after finishing as the top overall competitor at the MASCAC Championship hosted by Worcester State at Blissful Meadows Golf Course last weekend. His performance also headlines this year's All-Conference team. 

 

Tramonte, a sophomore from Tewksbury, Mass., earned individual medalist honors after he led the Vikings with an opening-round score of 78 (+6). Tramonte had a six-hole stretch where he recorded par for each hole. Had a second-round score of 75 (+3). During the second day, Tramonte notched three birdies and finished the tournament with an overall +9. He would go on to secure the individual honors after a playoff on the first hole and help the Vikings to a third place team finish.

 

Daniel Kwon of Marymount took home the 2025 MASCAC Rookie of the Year accolades after finishing third over the two day tournament. The first year from The Plains, Va., shot an 81 on the first day, including a birdie on three and 17 then turned around on day two to birdie the first hole and seventh to sit at two under before closing out the front nine at +2. He would end the day at +3 (75) to nab the rookie honors. 

 

After leading the Saints to their first-ever MASCAC Men's Golf Championship, Daniel Neben of Marymount was named the BSN Sports Coach of the Year as voted on by his peers.

 

Joining Tramonte and Kwon on the 2025 All-Conference First Team is Andrew Miller of Marymount and David Girouard and Ryan Wood of Springfield. 

 

Earing a spot on the Second Team are Chase Manion and Mark Heinz of Marymount, Baden Hancock of Marywood, Patrick Cotter of Salem State and Amir Ardolino of Springfield.
