Fitchburg State Picked to Win 2025-26 MASCAC Men’s Ice Hockey Crown
After claiming the MASCAC Tournament title last season, Fitchburg State has been voted on by the coaches to win the 2025-26 MASCAC Men’s Ice Hockey Championship.

Westfield, Mass.— After claiming the MASCAC Tournament title last season, Fitchburg State has been voted on by the coaches to win the 2025-26 MASCAC Men’s Ice Hockey Championship.
The Falcons earned five first place votes to sit atop this year’s poll. Returning is Hunter Dunn who last season led the team in points with 28 on 13 goals and 15 assists with a +18 rating. He registered three power play goals and two game-winners, including two goals and an assist in the championship game victory to earn a spot in the NCAA Tournament.
Sitting in second place is Anna Maria with two first place votes. The AMCATS were 14-4 during league play last season and bring back Brandon Della Paolera after he netted 11 goals with 18 assists for 29 points and a +12 rating. He tallied seven goals on the power play while collecting a game-winner.
Salem State is up next in third place. The Vikings were also 14-4 in MASCAC action during the 2024-25 campaign. Reigning MASCAC Player of the Year Landyn Greatorex returns after he was atop the MASCAC in points while collecting the second-most goals at 16 and assists at 25. He was solid on the power play, netting six goals while collecting a +20 rating.
Tying for the fourth slot are Westfield State and Worcester State. The Owls had eight wins in conference competition last season and were led by Cooper Board who found the back of the net 10 times while also assisting on nine goals for 19 points. For the Lancers who were 8-8-2 last season, Anders Grongstad is back for the squad after collecting 18 points on eight goals and 10 assists which included a game-winner.
Picked to finish sixth is Rivier. Returning to the ice for the Raiders is Carter Poulin. During the 2024-25 season, he finished with 13 points on six goals and seven assists. He also had a power play, game-winning and game-tying goal last season.
Rounding out the 2025-26 preseason poll are MCLA and Framingham State seventh and eighth, respectively. The Trailblazers look to Cade Herrera this seasons after he netted 12 goals and 10 assists for 22 points which included two goals during their run to the MASCAC title game last year. For the Rams, Scott Bugarin led the team in points with 15 on seven goals and eight assists, including two goals on the power play.
The 2025-26 season begins next weekend with non-conference action for the MASCAC teams and league play beginning the middle of November. For all the game schedules, scores, stats and recaps, use mascac.com.
