Six MASCAC Student-Athletes Named to United Soccer Coaches All-Region Teams
Hector Bucio, Tyler Chang and Filippo Mucci of Bridgewater State, Brody Calvert of Mass. Maritime, Iago DeSousa-Vieira of Salem State and Nick Parakilas of Westfield State were named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Region teams as announced by the organization.

A native of Acushnet, Massachusetts, Chang tallied a career-high five goals and four assists for 14 points in 20 games this season. Bucio, who hails from North Easton, Massachusetts, scored a goal and added three assists for five points while anchoring the Bears' back line. Chang and Bucio were integral parts of a defensive unit that limited teams to less than five (4.75) shots on goal per game and helped post eight shutouts.
Mucci scored six goals and dished out a career-high nine assists for 21 points in 19 games this season. The Vineyard Haven, Massachusettes resident led the MASCAC in assists and tied for fifth among the conference leaders in scoring. Chang, Mucci and Bucio helped the BSU men's soccer team post a 13-6-1 record in 2025 including a 6-1-1 conference mark as the Bears' captured both the MASCAC regular season and tournament titles. The Bears advanced to the NCAA Division III Tournament for the second time in the last three years and eighth time in program history.
Calvert scored a career-high 16 goals this season with five game-winners and had two assists to earn his third straight MASCAC All-Conference nod. He had two-goal games in five games this season, all in conference, against Salem, Bridgewater, MCLA, Framingham, and Westfield in the conference semifinals. His 16 goals are second best in a single season, only to former Buccaneer Brendan Duggan, who scored 18 in a season.
De Sousa-Vieira ended the season with 17 goals, which was the seventh-best mark in a season in program history to grab a spot on the All-Conference team. He ended the year on a seven-game scoring streak, which included two playoff goals, and posted two hat tricks this year (Oct. 11 vs. Bridgewater and Oct. 25 vs. MCLA).
Parakilas, the MASCAC Offensive Player of the Year, had a record setting season for the Owls. He netted 22 goals and four assists for 48 points along with four game-winning tallies. His single season goals is tied for fifth all time in the Westfield State record books. He currently is second in DIII in goals per game at 1.22 and third in points per game at 2.67.
