Westfield State Men, Bridgewater State Women Look to Repeat at Indoor Track and Field Championship
The Westfield State University men’s team and Bridgewater State women’s team look to repeat as champions Saturday, February 14th when the two teams join Fitchburg State and Worcester State at the 2015 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships.

WESTFIELD, Mass. -- The Westfield State University men's team and Bridgewater State women's team look to repeat as champions Saturday, February 14th when the two teams join Fitchburg State and Worcester State at the 2015 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships.
The MASCAC institutions will compete in conjunction with the New England Alliance meet, which features participating schools from the Little East conference. The championships hosted by Rhode Island College and UMass Dartmouth, will be held at the Providence Career and Technical Academy Fieldhouse in Providence, R.I. The meet will begin at noon with the field events.
Last season, Westfield State men reclaimed their indoor crown from Bridgewater State who earned their first MASCAC title last season. The Owls used a balanced roster to win the title withan athlete in the top three in nine of the 16 individual events. Matt Moussamih took top honors in the 800 meters for the Owls before earning another medal in the 4x800 meter relay with teammates Tevin Cintron, Colin Morse and Kenneth Parece.
As a team Westfield State finished with 170 points with Bridgewater State next at 157 points, Worcester State with 150 points and Fitchburg State with 102 points.
In the Alliance, Bridgewater State finished second behind winner UMass Dartmouth which combines competition between institutions from both the MASCAC and Little East Conference.
During the 2014 Indoor Championship, the Bridgewater State women took home their first indoor title over Westfield State. The Bears captured seven individual titles during the meet, including returners Samantha Richer who grabbed the top prize in high jump and Ariele Krevosky who finished first in both the long jump and triple jump.
Bridgewater State earned the title with 215 points over second place finisher Westfield State with 173 points, followed by Worcester State with 125 points and Fitchburg State with 60 points.
The Bears finished in second place behind host Southern Maine in the 2014 New England Alliance Championship.
