Bridgewater State's Kevin McBirney and Fitchburg State's Shamar Richburg take home the first MASCAC Men's Indoor Track and Field weekly awards of the season.

McBirney captured top honors in the 800-meter run this past weekend at the season-opening Suffolk Relays held at the Reggie Lewis Center. Outdistanced the field of 23 runners in the 800 with a time of 1:54.48. Also ran a leg on the Bears’ first-place 4x400-meter mixed relay squad along with Nicholas Grace and women’s track & field athletes Kiara Abrantes and Bella Grover. The foursome posted a winning time of 3:46.74. Currently ranks eighth in all of Division III and first in the East Region in the 800. |

Richburg finished first overall in the long jump with a DIII New England qualifying mark of 6.78 meters, while adding second place effort in the triple jump with an All-New England qualifying mark of 13.80 meters for the Falcons at the 2025 Springfield College Season Opener on Saturday. Currently 26th nationally in the triple jump. |
