MASCAC Softball Weekly Report 3/14
Molly Grass of Fitchburg State along with Kelley Reichert and Emily Marcotte of Bridgewater State earn the MASCAC Softball Player, Pitcher and Rookie of the Week awards after competing on spring break last week.

Grass batted .440 (11-for-25) with four doubles, one triple, home run, two stolen bases, three walks and 12 RBI over seven games for the Falcons. Finished 3-for-4 with two doubles, four runs scored, five RBI and a stole base in a 19-16 win over Dean College on Tuesday before adding a 2-for-3 effort with a double, home run, two runs scored and three RBI in an 11-2 victory against Norwich University on Friday. Concluded the week, going 2-for-4 with a triple and one run scored in an 8-7 setback to Medaille College on Sunday.

Reichert went 2-1 in the circle in four appearances for the Bears last week at The Spring Games in Clermont, Florida. Notched 16 strikeouts and posted a 4.20 earned run average in 20 innings of work. Came on in relief in a 3-2 extra inning win over Eastern Nazarene College and gave up one unearned run on four hits over three innings with two strikeouts. Went the distance in a 6-3 victory over Husson University allowing three runs on six hits with eight strikeouts.

Marcotte batted .417 (5-12) with a pair of doubles and an RBI in four games for the Bears at The Spring Games in Clermont, Florida. Went 2-for-3 with a doubles in a 7-2 setback to Alfred University; 2-for-4 with a doubles in a 3-2 win over Eastern Nazarene College; and 1-for-4 with an RBI in a 6-3 victory over Husson University.
