Angelina Lynch of Bridgewater State and Hannah Gilbert of MCLA grab the MASCAC Softball Player, Pitcher and Rookie of the Week honors.

Lynch batted .462 (6-13) with a home run, four doubles, a walk, a hit by pitch, two stolen bases, seven runs and six RBI in a 3-1 week for the Bears. Also posted a .533 on base percentage and a 1.000 slugging percentage. Defensively, recorded ten chances in centerfield with no errors. Went 3-for-6 with a home run, a pair of doubles, a walk, a hit by pitch, two stolen bases, three runs and five RBI in a MASCAC doubleheader sweep of Fitchburg State; and 3-for-7 with two doubles, four runs and an RBI in a non-conference split with UMass Dartmouth. |

Gilbert threw two complete game shutouts this week going 2-0, including a five-inning no-hitter against SUNY Cobleskill. In ten innings pitched the first-year hurler allowed only three hits and two walks while striking out 12 batters. Against Cobleskill Gilbert struck out three in MCLA’s 8-0 five-inning win and against Vermont State Johnson she allowed only three hits with a pair of walks while striking out nine batters as the Trailblazers won again, 8-0 in five innings. |
