Salem State's Liz Zaiter and Bridgewater State's Jannise Avelino claim the MASCAC Women's Basketball Player and Rookie of the Week after winning their conference contests last week.

Zaiter averaged 21.3 points, connecting on 27-of-37 field goal attempts (73 percent) and 10.3 rebounds in a 3-0 week for the Vikings. Accounted for a double-double of 26 points on 11-16 field goals and 14 rebounds in an 80-61 win over Fitchburg State. Shot 75 percent (6-8) from the floor for 15 points with nine rebounds and three assists in a 79-58 victory over the Falcons and contributed 23 points, shooting nearly 77 percent (10-13) with eight rebounds in an 86-43 decision over MCLA. |

Avelino scored 17 points on 7 of 10 shooting and pulled down five rebounds to go along with a steal in a 94-82 MASCAC win over Westfield State. Also went 3-for-3 from the free throw line. |
