Bridgewater State's Grassi, Framingham State's O'Connor and Westfield State's Grant Grab Women's Basketball Postseason Accolades

Grassi, the Bears' first Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Player of the Year since Colleen Feeney in 2008, averaged 17.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 2.2 steals in 27 games this season while shooting 42.1% (152-361) from the field, 30.7% (27-88) from behind the arc and 81.3% (130-160) at the free throw line. She ranked second among the MASCAC leaders in both scoring and free throw percentage, sixth in steals, seventh in three-point shooting, ninth in field goal percentage, and tenth in both assists and blocked shots (0.7 bpg).
O'Connor, who was a 1st Team All-NEWBA and MASCAC Player of the Year a year ago, lands on the All-NEWBA second team after earning 1st Team All-MASCAC honors. O'Connor averaged a double-double of 17.8 points per game and 10.3 rebounds. Her average points per game were first in the MASCAC while rebounds second at the end of the regular season. She also was in the top five in field goal percentage (51.2), free throw percentage (79.8), total rebounds (205) and blocks (22).
Grant, who was recently named to the MASCAC All-Conference First Team, was the Owls leading scorer, averaging the fourth-most points in the conference at 16.0 per game. She also led Westfield in rebounds (6.4) and field goal percentage (50.2%). She was one of two players in the MASCAC to be selected to an All-Region Team as 20 players throughout New England were recognized.
