Salem State's Kylie Gates and Worcester State's Lena Waldron are the first MASCAC Women's Basketball Player and Rookie of the Week as they started their season with non-conference wins.

Gates averaged 17 points, 8.5 assists. seven rebounds and four steals in a 2-0 week for the Vikings. Had 14 points, nine rebounds, 11 assists, and four steals in an 87-82 win over Elms. The senior followed up with a 20-point effort on 6-of-10 shooting (60.0%), six assists, four rebounds and four steals in an 81-77 victory against Salve Regina. |

Waldron averaged 10.7 points, seven rebounds and 2.3 steals in three games for the Lancers. Finished with 16 points, eight rebounds, a steal, block and assist in the 72-64 setback to Clark and added 13 points, six rebounds, three steals and two assists in the 72-60 win over Anna Maria. |
