Rivier/Worcester State Selected to Win 2025-26 MASCAC Women’s Ice Hockey Title
Rivier and Worcester State have been selected by the coaches around the league to win the 2025-26 MASCAC Women’s Ice Hockey title when play begins next week.

Westfield, Mass.— Rivier and Worcester State have been selected by the coaches around the league to win the 2025-26 MASCAC Women’s Ice Hockey title when play begins next week.
Receiving four of the six first place votes, the Raiders look to improve on last season which saw them take it to four overtimes in the MASCAC title game. Returning is reigning MASCAC Player of the Year Rebecca McKelvey who led the MASCAC in points at 31 and goals with 19 while adding 12 assists. She netted three game-winners and six on the power play to finish at a +12 rating.
Grabbing the final two first place votes is Worcester State in a tie for the first place spot. In goal, Kelsey Czerniawski was a force for the Lancers to earn the 2024-25 MASCAC Women’s Ice Hockey Defensive Player of the Year honors. She led the conference in save percentage at .958 which is also the fifth-best in Division III while also making 639 stops, another conference best. She also registered a 1.71 goals against average while helping the team to eight wins and two ties.
Sitting in third is Anna Maria. The AMCATS were 6-7-2 last season. Ceili Nolan returns for the squad after collecting 10 points on two goals and eight assists over her 10 games started.
Joining MASCAC women’s ice hockey this season and landing in the fourth spot is Salem State. In her first season with the Vikings, Halle Greenleaf led the team with nine points on six goals and three assists while netting three goals on the power play and one game-winner.
Rounding out this year’s preseason poll are Framingham State and MCLA in fifth and sixth, respectively. For the Rams, Petra Cernicek tallied nine points on eight goals and an assist. For the Trailblazers, Summer Bissaillion returns after tallying 12 points on six points and six assists with two power play goals and two game-winners.
The 2025-26 women’s ice hockey season gets underway October 31 with non-conference action and lead play starting in the middle of November. Grab all the details at mascac.com and mascac.tv.
