Worcester State Seeks Back-to-Back Titles as Top Seed in 2026 MASCAC Women's Lacrosse Tournament
After claiming their first tournament crown last season, Worcester State is seeking a repeat as the top seed in the 2026 MASCAC Women's Lacrosse Tournament which begins on Tuesday.

Up first in the quarterfinal round on Tuesday, April 28, #3 Bridgewater State hosts #6 Salem State at 6 pm while #4 Framingham State will host #5 Fitchburg State at 7 pm. The two quarterfinal winners will then move on to the semis on Thursday, April 30 with top seed Worcester State hosting the lowest remaining seed at 6 pm and second seed Westfield State facing the other remaining seed at 7 pm.
The two semifinal winners will then meet on Saturday, May 2 at the highest remaining seed for the MASCAC Tournament crown and a spot in the NCAA Tournament.
With their second straight regular season title, Worcester State earned the top seed with a 7-0 conference mark. The team is led by Molly Witkowski who tallied 74 points on 32 goals and a league-leading 42 assists. She also registered a 79.4 shot on goal percentage with 11 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers on the year.
Grabbing the other first round bye is Westfield State with the second seed. The Owls were 6-1 during the conference campaign. Christina Roncarati was the leading scorer not only for the team but the league with 59 goals while also assisting on 15 others for 74 points. She led the MASCAC with 104 shots while tallying a 83.7 shots on goal percentage.
Bridgewater State lands the third season after going 5-2 in MASCAC competition. Meredith Sylvia was a force for the Bears on offense and defense. She collected 51 points on 38 goals and 13 assists while also grabbing 33 draw controls, 37 ground balls and causing 25 turnovers this season.
Earning the final hosting duties is Framingham State with the fourth seed. The Rams were 4-3 in league action. In her first year with the squad, Jenna James netted 47 points on 46 goals and one assist with an 84.9 shots on goal percentage. She also scooped up 15 ground balls, four draw controls and three caused turnovers.
Rounding out the 2026 tournament field is Fitchburg State and Salem State with the fifth and sixth seed, respectively. For the Falcons, Jessica St. George led the team with 29 goals while assisting on 11 others for 40 points with 51 draw controls, 36 ground balls and 22 caused turnovers. For the Vikings, Laura Young collected 63 points with 35 goals and 28 assists. She also finished with 30 ground balls and seven caused turnovers this season.
During the 2025 MASCAC Tournament, top seed Worcester State won their first-ever tournament title with the 13-11 win over third seed Framingham State to nab a spot in the NCAA Tournament.
