MASCAC Women's Lacrosse Weekly Awards 3/2
The Fitchburg State duo of Jessica George and Nevaeh Chiacchia along with Sophia Fleurent of Bridgewater State take home the first MASCAC Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player, Rookie and Defensive Player of the Week honors.

St. George totaled six points on five goals and one assist as well as six groundballs, 11 draw controls and three caused turnovers in a 2-0 week for the Falcons. Collected five points on four goals and one assist in addition to three groundballs, eight draw controls and one caused turnover in a 12-8 victory over the Leopards of Wentworth on the 18th before adding one score, three groundballs, three draw controls and two caused turnovers in a 9-8 triumph over Saint Joseph (CT) on the 21st. |
Defensive Player of the Week
Sophia Fleurent, Bridgewater State
Sophomore, Midfield, Fairhaven, Mass.
Fleurent forced nine turnovers and notched 22 draw controls to go along with
six ground balls over the Bears’ first three games of the season. Also scored four
goals and dished out a pair of assists for six points. Notch three caused turnovers
and seven draw controls, including the 100th of her career, to go along with a pair
of goals and an assist in an 11-9 win on the road over UNE. Tallied three caused
turnovers, eight draw controls and two ground balls in a 9-8 victory over Salve
Regina, and three caused turnovers, seven draw controls and four ground balls as
well as two goal and an assist in an 18-9 season-opening loss to Wheaton.

Chiacchia collected three goals and three draw controls in a 2-0 week for the Green and Gold. Netted her first two collegiate marker and one draw control in a 12-8 victory over Wentworth on the 18th before adding one goal and two draw control in a 9-8 triumph against Saint Joseph (CT) on the 21st. |
