MASCAC Women's Soccer Weekly Awards 9/25

After winning their conference contests over the weekend, Bridgewater State's Sydney Dewhurst, Westfield State's Julia Robak and Mass. Maritime's Ayla Santoro earn the MASCAC Women's Soccer Offensive, Defensive and Rookie of the Week accolades.

Offensive Player of the Week
Sydney Dewhurst, Bridgewater State
Senior, Defense, E. Bridgewater, Mass.

Dewhurst scored a pair of goals in two games for the Bears last week which included a 2-0 MASCAC win over Fitchburg State University.  Also found the back of the net in a tough 2-1 setback to regional power Brandeis University.

Defensive Player of the Week
Julia Robak, Westfield State
Sophomore, Goalkeeper, Chicopee, Mass.

Robak backstopped the Owls’ 3-0 win over Worcester State with seven saves to record the shutout in her only start of the week.

Rookie of the Week
Ayla Santoro, Mass. Maritime
Freshman, Forward, Attleboro, Mass.

Santoro scored her first career goal in the Buccaneers’ 2-1 conference win over MCLA on Saturday which game the Bucs a 1-0 lead at the time. she took five shots in the game, three on target.
