Westfield State Repeats as MASCAC Women's Indoor Track and Field Champions
For the second straight time, Westfield State claim the team title at the 2025-26 MASCAC Women's Indoor Track and Field Championship at Wheaton College hosted by the Owls.
For the second straight time, Westfield State claim the team title at the 2025-26 MASCAC Women's Indoor Track and Field Championship at Wheaton College hosted by the Owls.
Westfield State finished with 250 points with Bridgewater State in second at 133. Worcester State and Fitchburg State rounded out the team scores at 118 and 63 points.
The Owls claimed five individual crowns and two relays at the MASCAC Championship. Eliza Lee was a dual winner in the long jump and triple jump with top leaps of 5.67m and 10.79m. Reese Stevens crossed the line first in the 800m run with a time of 2:26.04. Shea Hamel had a top time in the 1,000m run with a time of 3:20.7 while Emily Ottomaniello cleared the top spot in the pole vault with a clearing of 2.55m.
In the 4x200m relay, Jailene Felix, Anjalina Lubarsky, Ava Lapa and Lee finished first with a time of 1:52.02. Molly Lenehan, Brynne LeCours, Tealei Chandonnet and Stevens came in first in the 4x800m relay with a time of 10:35.74.
The Bears took home five individual titles and a relay on the night. Kiara Abrantes and Naomi Cass were two-time winners. Abrantes was first in the 200m dash (25.71) and 400m dash (59.08) while Cass claimed both the mile run (5:16.50) and 5,000m (18:12.30) crowns. Cass's 5k time broke the previous MASCAC mark and teammate Grace Inacio joined her with a new MASCAC record of her own in the 60m dash with a time of 7.73 seconds.
Inacio, Abrantes, Cass and Bella Grover earned the relay crown in the 4x400m relay with a time of 4:16.31.
Worcester State had two individual medals today. Janine Betcher crossed the line first in the 600m run with a time of 1:45.14 while Jenna Lopez earned her first MASCAC crown with a top throw of 11.00m in the shot put.
Fitchburg State collected four individual titles Sunday evening, including a dual victory for Makany Camara in the 60m hurdles (9.13) and high jump (1.55m). Skye Goba came in first in the 3,000m run with a time of 10:52.44 and Taylor Crout earned an individual medal in the weight throw with a top distance of 12.92m.
The teams will next meet on February 28 at the Division III New England Championships.
