The Fitchburg State duo of Samantha Mirra and Stephanie Sardella are the MASCAC Volleyball Player and Rookie of the Week after leading their team to a conference win to earn a spot in the tournament this week.

Mirra averaged 10.5 kills, 17.5 digs with six service aces, two assists, a solo block and a blocking assist in a 1-1 week for the Falcons. Posted nine kills, one service ace, 11 digs and one blocking assist in a setback to Saint Joseph (CT) on Thursday before adding 12 kills, two assists, five service aces, 24 digs and one solo block in a 3-2 victory over Salem State on Saturday to earn a spot in the league tournament. |

Sardella notched 26 kills, three service aces, 35 digs and one solo block in a 1-1 week for the Falcons. Notched seven kills, three service aces, eight digs and one solo block in a setback to Saint Joseph (CT) on Thursday before adding a career best 19 kills and 27 digs in a 3-2 triumph over Salem State on Saturday. |
