Bridgewater State Earns Top Seed in 2025 MASCAC Women's Volleyball Tournament
After claiming the regular season title, Bridgewater State has earned the top seed in the 2025 MASCAC Women's Volleyball Tournament which begins with the quarterfinal round on Tuesday.

Starting on Tuesday, Nov. 11 with the quarterfinals, #4 MCLA will host #5 Worcester State at 4 pm with #3 Framingham State hosting #6 Salem State at 6. In the semifinals Thursday, Nov. 13, Bridgewater State will host the lowest remaining seed at 6 pm while second seed Westfield State will entertain the other remaining seed at 7:30 pm.
The two semifinal winners will then meet on Saturday, Nov. 15 at the highest remaining seed for a shot at the MASCAC Tournament title and spot in the NCAA Tournament.
The Bears earned their first regular season title since 2008 after going 8-0 in league play. They were led by Lily Welch for finished the regular season second in kills per set with 3.00 and hitting percentage at .296 plus sixth in total kills with 198. She also collected 233 digs, 36 total blocks and 28 service aces over her 19 matches played.
Getting the other first round bye is Westfield State with the second seed. The Owls finished 7-1 in league play thanks to setter Morgan Dority who tallied 675 and 7.85 per set, the second-most in the MASCAC. She also had 234 digs, 37 blocks and 67 kills on the year.
Framingham State is up next with the third seed and quarterfinal hosting duties. The Rams were 6-2 and led by Natalie Reynolds who closed out the regular season first in kills with 391 and kills per set at 3.69, third in hitting percentage at .281, fourth in solo blocks with 14 and sixth in total blocks with 43.
Grabbing the final hosting rights is MCLA with the fourth seed. The Trailblazers were 5-3 over the league campaign. Elizabeth Brown led the team with 215 kills, averaging 2.79 per set while adding 205 digs, 32 service aces and seven total blocks.
Closing out this year's tournament field are Worcester State and Salem State with the fifth and sixth seed, respectively. For the Lancers, Katherine Crateau finished second in the conference in digs with 428 and digs per set with 4.41. She also had 90 assists and 34 service aces. For the Vikings, Kailey Roche collected 371 digs, averaging 4.76 per set which were in the top four of the MASCAC while getting 25 service aces and 49 assists over the regular season.
At the 2024 MASCAC Women's Volleyball Tournament, second seed Bridgewater State took home the title in exciting fashion with a five set win over top seed Westfield State to win their first tournament crown in 16 years.
